1. Who is responsible
The data controller is SOWEBI, 16 rue Cuvier, 69006 Lyon, France, company number 891 330 797.
The contact for any question about your data, and for exercising your rights, is Terence-Joel Ikandakpeye: write to contact@clipfinish.video.
2. What we process, and why
- E-mail address, name if you provide one, interface language and password: to keep your account and sign you in (performance of the contract).
- IP address and browser when a session is opened: to keep you signed in and protect your account (legitimate interest).
- IP address, requested page, response code and browser on every request: to spot a fault, an attack or abuse, and to know which crawlers come and read the site (legitimate interest).
- Billing details, the plan you subscribed to and invoices: to charge the subscription and keep our accounts (contract, legal obligation).
- The videos you upload, their transcript and the clips produced: to produce what you ask for; they may contain a person's image and voice (performance of the contract).
- Use of the service tied to your account, without IP address or content, and the link you arrived through: to understand where the product gets stuck and which channel found us (legitimate interest).
- The identifier of the referrer whose link or code brought you, and the link between the two of you: to pay them the commission they are owed (legitimate interest). They never learn who you are: they only receive counts and amounts.
- For a referrer: first name, last name, postal address, invoices received and transfers made: to perform the referral agreement and keep our books (contract, legal obligation).
- Messages sent through the contact form: to answer you (legitimate interest).
3. What we do not do
No card details touch our servers: they go straight to our payment provider. We do not sell or rent your data. There is no advertising tracker, no third-party analytics tool, and no profiling.
Your content is never used to train an artificial intelligence model, neither ours nor our providers'. No fully automated decision producing legal effects concerning you is taken.
4. Who else has access
- Our hosting providers, named in the legal notice: the service, your files and the backups.
- Our payment provider: your e-mail address and billing details.
- Our automatic transcription provider: the audio from your video and its transcript.
None of these providers may use your data for their own purposes; each is bound by a data processing agreement. Payment and transcription may involve processing in the United States, on the basis of the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework and the European Commission's standard contractual clauses. The name of each provider is given on request at contact@clipfinish.video.
Your data may also be disclosed to a judicial or administrative authority upon a lawful request.
5. How long we keep it
- Uploaded videos and rendered clips: the retention period attached to your plan, shown when you upload, then automatic deletion.
- Transcripts and hooks: as long as the project they belong to exists.
- Account and identification data: as long as the account exists, then thirty days.
- Sessions: until they expire, or immediately when you sign out.
- Invoices and accounting records: ten years, as required by article L123-22 of the French commercial code.
- Web server access logs: one month at most.
- Messages sent to support: three years after the last exchange.
The service is backed up: data you delete may therefore survive for a while in a backup, until a more recent one replaces it. Backups are only ever read to restore the service.
6. Your rights
You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection and portability, as well as the right to withdraw your consent where a processing operation relies on it.
To exercise them, including to ask for your account and data to be deleted, write to contact@clipfinish.video from your account address. We answer within one month.
If our answer does not satisfy you, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the CNIL or with the supervisory authority of your country of residence.
7. Cookies
ClipFinish only uses cookies that are strictly necessary to the service, all of them ours and none from a third party: they keep you signed in and remember where your visit came from.
None is an advertising cookie, and none follows you across other sites: as such, they do not require your prior consent (article 82 of the French Data Protection Act). You can delete or block them in your browser; signing in then no longer works.
8. Security
Traffic is encrypted and passwords are never stored in clear text. Data is accessible only to those who need it, and we apply the technical and organisational measures appropriate under article 32 of the GDPR.
In the event of a data breach likely to create a risk to your rights, we will notify the CNIL within 72 hours and notify you directly where the risk is high.
9. Changes
This policy may change. Any substantial change (a new purpose, a new processor, a longer retention period) is notified to you by e-mail before it takes effect. The version in force is the one published on this page, with its date.
